Dubai Department ApprovalsAuthority approvals in Dubai
Many business activities need the consent of a specialist authority in addition to the trade licence. A clinic needs the Dubai Health Authority, a restaurant needs Dubai Municipality, and a transport company needs the Roads and Transport Authority.
We identify which approvals your activities require before you commit to an office or a licence, then prepare and submit each application and follow it through to issue.
Approvals we obtain
- Department of Economy and Tourism (DET)
- Dubai Municipality
- Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)
- Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
- Dubai Civil Defence (DCD)
- Dubai Police
- Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA)
- Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)
- Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA)
- Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE)
- Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA)
- Dubai Chamber of Commerce
- Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA)
- Ministry of Education
- Dubai Media Office
- Dubai Sports Council
Why it matters
An activity that needs an external approval cannot be added to your licence until that approval is granted. Some authorities also set conditions on the premises, the qualifications of the manager or the equipment used.
Knowing these conditions early prevents the most common and costly mistake: signing a lease for premises that the authority will not approve.
Activities that fall only under DET usually need no further approval. We will tell you plainly which case applies to you.
